Dear family and friends,

this will just be a short update so that you know what happened and how you can pray for us. God blessed the outreach with the Barts in October tremendously and many kids were reached at various schools. My brother's visit was also a refreshing time for us. Then we had a great outcome for the flea market and the pizza night. We were going full steam to finish everything needed for the permanent licence when people started to withdraw from the savings plan we established. That threw us back a little financially so that we will get the construction permission for one more year.

...and be thankful

In October we celebrated the Children's Day with the kids in Mexico 70 and had lots of fun with them playing different games and in the end every child got a bag of candies. We also celebrated Thanksgiving with them in a special way. After sharing about the importance of being thankful, each child wrote down what they were thankful for. Then we led them to the backyard where we had prepared tables and a big breakfast with lots of food. They were so surprised and we spent the rest of the time eating and fellowshipping together.

In church we also celebrated Thanksgiving with a big colonial brunch. Everybody had the opportunity to share what God had done this year and they were thankful for, so that many shared testimonies of God's faithfulness in their lives, keeping them safe from some accident, providing a job for them, bringing families closer together and many other things.

The end of the year

Now we are quickly coming to the end of the year and we would like you to ask for prayer. After four years our janitor and his family have been able to finance their own house and are moving out this week. We are glad that God has opened this door for them. Now we are praying for a new person or family to take over that role by January 2012. There is a lady with two boys in church who has been part of the church since the beginning and God has put her on our hearts. So we asked her to pray about it. May you pray with us for God's confirmation? This week a family from Germany will be coming to stay for three weeks. Carsten, with whom Celso and I did Bible College and his wife and son are praying to come along side the church long term in the future. God has put Mexico 70 on their hearts and one of the things he would like to do (since he is a carpenter) is to teach the children how to work with wood. May that vision grow more and may God confirm His will in their lives. We love them and are really excited to have them with us. This Sunday we will have our Christmas Celebration with the kids in Mexico 70. We were able to buy a school kit for all the kids and have just received a donation of small games and candy that we will also be able to give to the kids.

On December 17 the church will open its doors for the first time ever Nativity Play. Many people are involved in putting this together and many rooms and the sanctuary will be used to present the Christmas story to visitors and especially the neighborhood. It is something completely evangelistic so please pray for God to remove all obstacles in the way and that the Spirit might draw and speak to many. One week before that the church will hand out invitations and Panetone (Christmas bread) in the neighborhood. People will also be invited to the Christmas and New Year's services. This year there will be a service on the 24^th and 25^th as well as on the 31^st and 1^st. Pray that God may open the eyes for all to see the Savior of the world, for the first time or all fresh and new for the hundreth time.

In January we are looking forward to receive our beloved brother Larry Lyon and his wife who have already been spending a few months in Brazil to encourage the churches in the country.

Greater things are yet to come

May we not despise the small signs of great things to come. A small baby Jesus in a manger was a sign as small as a man's hand that only few recognized as the Messiah, the King, the One who would save the world. God most often works in the small things. May you be aware of His working in every little thing during this Christmas season.

Rundbrief Oktober-November

Liebe Familie und Freunde,

das wird nur ein kurzer Rundbrief sein, damit Ihr wisst, was passiert ist und, wie Ihr für uns beten könnt. Gott hat den Einsatz mit den Barts im Oktober reichlich gesegnet und viele Kinder konnten an verschiedenen Schulern erreicht werden. Der Besuch meines Bruders war auch eine erfrischende Zeit für uns. Dann hatten wir ein tolles Ergebnis sowohl auf dem Flohmarkt als auch auf der Pizzanacht. Wir waren volle Kraft voraus in Richtung Dauererlaubnis, als Leute anfingen, Geld von dem Sparplan wieder abzuheben. Das hat uns finanziell ein bisschen zurückgeworfen und so werden wir die Bauerlaubnis nochmal für ein Jahr verlängern.

...und seid dankbar

Im Oktober haben wir den Kindertag mit den Kids in Mexiko 70 gefeiert und hatten viel Spass mit ihnen, haben verschiedene Spiele gespielt und am Ende bekam jedes Kind eine Tüte voller Süßigkeiten. Wir haben auch ein besonderes Thanksgiving auf amerikanische Art mit ihnen gefeiert. Nachdem wir darüber gesprochen hatten wie wichtig es ist, dankbar zu sein, hat jedes Kind aufgeschrieben, für was es dankbar war. Dann haben wir sie in den Hinterhof geführt, wo wir schon Tische und ein großes Frühstück mit viel Essen vorbereitet hatten. Sie waren so überrascht und wir haben den Rest der Zeit verbracht, zusammen zu essen und Gemeinschaft zu haben.

In der Gemeinde haben wir auch Thanksgiving gefeiert, nämlich mit einem kolonialen Brunch. Jeder hatte die Möglichkeit zu erzählen, was Gott in diesem Jahr getan hatte und wofür er dankbar war, sodass viele Zeugnis von Gottes Treue in ihren Leben gaben, Bewahrung vor einem Unfall, ein neuer Job, Familien die näher zueinander gefunden haben und viele andere Dinge.

Das Ende des Jahres

Jetzt kommt schon das Ende des Jahres und wir möchten Euch um Gebet bitten. Nach vier Jahren konnten unser Hausmeister und seine Familie ihr eigenes Haus finanzieren und ziehen diese Woche um. Wir sind froh, dass Gott diese Tür für sie geöffnet hat. Jetzt beten wir für eine neue Person oder eine Familie, um diese Rolle ab Januar 2012 zu übernehmen. Es gibt eine Frau mit zwei Söhnen in der Gemeinde, die schon seit Anfang an Teil der Gemeinde ist und Gott hat sie uns auf das Herz gelegt. Also haben wir sie gefragt, ob sie nicht darüber beten will. Betet mit uns für Gottes Bestätigung! Diese Woche kommt eine Familie aus Deutschland, um drei Wochen zu bleiben. Carsten, der mit Celso und mir Bibelschule gemacht hat, und seine Frau und Sohn beten, der Gemeinde für eine längere Zeit zur Seite zu kommen. Gott hat ihnen Mexiko 70 auf das Herz gelegt und ein Sache, die Carsten gerne tun würde (als gelernter Schreiner) ist, den Kindern zu lehren, mit Holz zu arbeiten. Möge diese Vision noch weiter wachsen und möge Gott Seinen Willen in ihren Leben bestätigen. Wir haben sie lieb und freuen uns wirklich, sie bei uns zu haben. Diesen Sonntag werden wir unsere Weihnachtsfeier mit den Kindern in Mexiko 70 haben. Wir konnten eine Tüte gefüllt mit Schulmaterial für jedes Kind kaufen und haben gerade noch eine Spende mit kleinen Spielen und Süßigkeiten bekommen, mit denen wir den Kindern auch eine Freude machen werden.

Am 17. Dezember wird die Gemeinde die Türen öffnen für das allererste Krippenspiel. Viele Leute sind daran beteiligt und wir werden verschiedene Räume und den Gemeindesaal benutzen, um den Besuchern und vor allem der Nachbarschaft die Weihnachtsgeschichte zu präsentieren. Es ist absolut evangelistisch ausgerichtet, also betet, dass Gott alle Hindernisse aus dem Weg räumt und, dass der Geist viele bringt und zu vielen spricht. Eine Woche davor wird die Gemeinde Einladungen und Panetone (Weihnachtsgebäck) in der Nachbarschaft verteilen. Die Einladungen sind auch für die Weihnachts- und Sylvestergottesdienste. Dieses Jahr wird es am 24. und 25. sowie am 31. und 1. Gottesdienst geben. Betet, dass Gott die Augen öffnet, damit alle den Retter der Welt sehen, zum ersten Mal oder ganz frisch und neu zum 100. Mal. Im Januar freuen wir uns schon, Larry Lyon und seine Frau zu empfangen, die ein paar Monate in Brasilien sind, um die verschiedenen Gemeinden in Brasilien zu ermutigen.

Größeres wird noch geschehen

Mögen wir nicht die kleinen Zeichen verachten, die uns zeigen, dass Größeres geschehen wird. Ein kleines Baby in der Grippe, Jesus, war ein Zeichen, so klein wie die Hand eines Mannes, das nur Wenige als Messias, den König, den Erretter der Welt erkannten. Gott wirkt meistens in den kleinen Dingen. Möget Ihr in dieser Weihnachtszeit Sein Wirken in allen kleine Dingen erkennen.
